The 2014 Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Fair had about 32 percent more media coverage than the Fair 2012, and about four percent more than the Fair 2013.

 

 

The Challenge

The 2014 Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Fair (The Fair 2014) is an event hosted by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) and organized by Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement (KAIA) designed to promote and utilize R&D achievements in land and transport areas. The objective of the event is to facilitate development of technologies and their commercialization in the era of creative economy that will help enable people to enjoy a higher quality of life in such areas as urban, architecture, civil engineering, water resource, plant, railroad, ITS and aviation and publicize R&D achievements.

The Solution

Media activities were carried out focusing on publicize R&D achievements in land and transport areas and exhibitions of the fair. To help people better understand difficult technologies in land and transport areas, exhibits closer to their daily life were introduced through news programs of national broadcasters, info-tainment TV programs and others. In addition, interviews with key persons were conducted to publicize the significance of the fair along with distribution of press releases.

On the online front, PR House was put in charge of running a blog and made a variety of quality contents including event sketches, technologies on land and transport, and major achievements.

The Result

The 2014 Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Fair had about 32 percent more media coverage than the Fair 2012, and about four percent more than the Fair 2013. One of the exhibits of the fair was featured on the front-page article of a major daily and introduced through the main screen of Naver, Korea’s biggest portal, drawing a lot of interest among netizens. An interview article with a fair related person was also featured on the front-page of IT daily. In addition, the Fair 2014 was also aired by news programs of SBS, a national South Korean television, and other information channels. On the online front, during the promotional period, over 2,000 people visited the blog. Also, over 400 visitors participated in the online event held on the blog.
